chloride

For a significant part of its history this empty building was a salt cod warehouse. It is located within an area of the city of Exeter that was historically a port and working quayside but now is in transition to pleasure and recreation district. While its status as heritage is unclear, gradual depredation is occurring. There is recognition of the need both for preservation and a new role yet to be found - maybe as riverside dwellings or commercial outlets (it is a prime site for redevelopment and capital investment).
