| Safe-keeping
(Custodia) examines the affective nature of wrapped and unopened
bundles of clothes and personal items handed over by patients entering
the former psychiatric hospital Santa Maria Della Pieta Hospital in
Rome. These parcels were kept securely in the fagotteria (storeroom)
on behalf of the patients and the details were entered in ledgers,
now held in the hospital archive. The remaining and unclaimed bundles
are now installed at the Museo Laboratorio Della Mente, which occupies
one of the former hospital buildings. The project, which involves
embodied and performative artistic methods, is in progress during
2012-13. |
